General description
Our residential building - CASA BEPPO - is located near Ventimiglia and the French border but off the Ligurian coast's hustle and bustle.
You will find us about 4.5 km from Apricale (IM) in the hilly hinterland in Località Osaggio.
We live in a beautiful and largely unspoiled countryside where you really can enjoy nature.
Our place is reached on ever smaller and bumpier provincial and municipal roads. Eventually, a small private road leads to six permanent residences and seven solitary holiday homes scattered on
our area. Currently about 800 m of the private road is still a gravel road, but the first part of paving has begun in March 2022.
In summer and in dry weather, the road can easily be negotiated with normal vehicles. In the rainy months of late autumn or spring, off-road vehicles are recommended, though.
NOTE: The current conditions make our road impassable for low-bed vehicles. Larger vehicles than VW buses are also not recommended due to road width, parking and turning options.
However, the beaches at Ventimiglia, Camporosso and Bordighera are only a short drive (35 minutes) away, and Imperia, Sanremo, Menton, Monte Carlo or Nizza are also within reach for a daytrip if you need a break from the remoteness of our place.
No 1 "LUCERTOLA"
Our TINY RUSTICO
For nature lovers and star seekers:
About 800m off our main house and 50m higher above - already belonging to the communal forest "Brughea" - you will find our little rustico, CASA LUCERTOLA, sitting in the middle of our fruit garden, along with Eucalyptus fields and a further olive grove.
The view from the sunny patios across the valley and towards the sunset is fantastic.
Little lizards sunbathe everywhere on the walls and occasionally you can even see the large Eastern Green Lizard.
From here you can watch birds of prey from Monte Bignone which like to circle in the very special thermal lift rising from the slopes of this semicircular mountain range.
The rustico features 2 patios, to the right and to the left of the house. The smaller one leads to the interior rooms (ca. 25m²) at ground level: a small living-dining room fitted with a kitchen unit (sink, 2-burner gas stove) and an open fireplace. Through an opening in an old stonewall you get into the former barn - there is a refrigerator in the hallway which leads to a small bathroom with shower, sink and toilet, and to a cozy cozy, small bedroom with a double bed (140x200cm) for 1-2 people.
For small children, we are happy to provide a travel cot with bed linen, a baby high chair and a children's bathtub on request.
Upon request, and for an additional fee, another 2 people can be accommodated in our Tiny glamping cottage "GECO" situated above the rustico.
The Rustico can be operated either independently of electricity and lighting using solar energy, or via grid connection. Our glamping cottage and outdoor kitchen have mains power.
We deliberately chose not to include a television because we meant CASA LUCERTOLA to be a hideaway, a place to get away from the daily grind and stress.
Wi-Fi is available, as is typical in rural areas.
A radio with Bluetooth functionality for your own music and a small hairdryer in the bathroom are also available in the rustic cottage. For your safety, a first-aid kit, a smoke detector, a fire extinguisher, a CO2 detector, and a small safe for your valuables are also available.
A few meters from the rustico is a "tettoia" (kind of open shed) that we are using for the occasional processing of our Eucalyptus. It also can be used by our guests as a "outdoor kitchen". Here you will find a small freezer, a small oven, a gas cooking-grill combination, a kitchen witch, and a charcoal grill.
As is typical in this area with terraced extensions, our small rustic cottage also has a lower level. Here you'll find our "cantina," where we can offer you wine and beer upon request, as well as a small room for our garden tools. The adjoining, tiny toilet room is for our private use only.
A few stone steps lead you to the terraces above the rustico and, past the outdoor shower with hand basin and the GECO cottage, to our vintage panoramic pool in a 60-year-old, converted concrete vasca (2.30 m deep), with a bench in the water and a fantastic view. The pool is open seasonally from June to October, depending on the weather.
Please note that approximately 700 m of the road between our main house and the steepbut paved driveway, that leads to CASA LUCERTOLA is gravel road ! There is parking at the foot of the driveway, one halfway up and one immediately in front of the entrance gate which is in a distance of 25 meters from the rustico.

our TINY GLAMPING COTTAGE (15m²)
A little closer to nature and the stars:
We value the privacy of our guests. That is why the "GECO" glamping cottage can only be booked in together with the rustico, CASA LUCERTOLA, for an additional 2 people.
The glamping cottage virtually adds to the rustico another bedroom of 15 m².
The pretty, airy glamping cottage with barrel roof is standing on a wooden terrace, a bit higher, and has its own seating. It affords a wonderful view of the French mountains beyond Menton.
The glamping cottage is equipped with 1 comfortable double bed (180x200cm), a bedside table, wardrobe, comfortable seating, pellet stove, mini fridge, electric lighting and a 220V electrical outlet. A furniture safe, first aid kit, smoke detectors and CO2 detectors are also available.
A travel cot for a small child or a folding bed for a third person can be added.
Adjacent to the cottage there is a small bathroom with toilet and hand basin for our GECO-guests. In front of the sunny wooden terrace there is an outside shower and a wash basin, each with cold water. A short path with 2 stone stairs leads across a terraced garden from the glamping house to the rustico. The hot shower as well as cooking facilities are provided in the rustico.

our TINY GLAMPING COTTAGE (18m²)
Spend your holidays surrounded by fragrant bushes and birdsong:
Our lovely, small and cheerful glamping cottage "UCCELLO" is located on a separate, extremely sunny terrace property, surrounded by the scent of eucalyptus, rosemary and lavender. It is about 300m in front of our private house - CASA BEPPO.
2 adults (and 2 children) can be comfortably accommodated here. The friendly and airy wooden house with barrel roof is equipped with a pellet stove, a small kitchen, a cute bathroom, a stone terrace with seating and an additional outdoor shower. TV and WiFi are available.
From the terrace you have a spectacular view of the sunset, the valley and the mountains.
